In support of SHELTER Redmak have joined the RIBA scheme to offer a series of one hour consultations in return for a donation to Shelter – This year the theme is Green Architecture and any person wanting to speak to a local architect about their own green home issues is encourged to contact RIBA or Architecture Week 2007 to make use of the scheme – architects and clients will get matched in June 2007 and actual consultations can take place until the end of October.
REVIVE models at sketch design stage
This model was designed to come apart in order to allow local people and stakeholders to get right into the building spaces. This model enabled people to understand the layout and room shape and therefore feel able to contribute to the design process.
Come and visit the finished building during architecture week where for 2 hours there will be architects, dancers and local people conducting tours and talks.
Last night at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, Derwent Stepping Stones was the winner of the COMMUNITY BENEFIT RICS East Midlands Awards 2007 and was the runner up for the PROJECT OF THE YEAR RICS East Midlands Awards 2007
With celebration on thier minds, Derwent Stepping Stones will be opening its doors to the public during architecture week.

Derwent Stepping Stones is the result of a big vision by a small organisation.
Challenging expectations, perceptions and the reputation of the area both in design and procurement this project has become a key player in the regeneration of the area, physically, emotionally and educationally.
Very early on in the design the children decided that the building was their ship, once finished the local MP described it as a metaphorical Ark taking its community on a journey of discovery!
Derwent Stepping Stones won the 2006 Award of Certificate of Craftsmanship by the East Midlands Joint Consultative Committee for Construction.
Derwent Stepping Stones was highly commended for the Derby City Design Award 2006.
